The Peace and Friendship Farm is an urban garden located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, not far from the University's campus. The farm is run by the Project Love Coalition, a non-profit organization that assists veterans in the area through community building and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math)-based projects. The Peace and Friendship Farm teaches members of the Hill District how to grow healthy food sustainably and promotes social engagement.

In February 2024, we started our partnership with Kent, the owner of the Peace and Friendship Farm, and the Project Love Coalition. We are currently working with Kent to design and build a solar-powered walk-in cooler, which will store fresh produce from the farm. Our plan is to design a walk-in cooler inside a 20ft HC steel shipping container. In the future, we plan to help design a water irrigation and high tunnel system for the farm.
