Local Outreach

About Our Outreach

As part of our mission in empowering the communities that we partner with, EWB Pitt is also committed to serving the Pittsburgh area. We are constantly seeking new ways to serve our local community. Our members regularly take part in volunteer opportunities throughout the city.

  • Adopt-A-Block

  • Greater Pittsburgh Area Foodbank

  • Islamic Center of Pittsburgh Food Pantry

  • Oasis Farm and Fishery

  • Hosanna House

These volunteer opportunities are a great way for our team members to become more acquainted with our local community. Additionally, these opportunities are always great fun! If you or your organization are looking for volunteers in the Pittsburgh community, please reach out to us through our contact information below!

About Hosanna House

We have partnered with Hosanna House, a local nonprofit community organization, to repair and revitalize a playground area for young children. Our team participated in site visits, researched potential alternatives, and met with engineering professionals in order to develop a solution that satisfied all stakeholders. The site proved challenging as a steep incline posed significant erosion risk, especially given its heavy use by children. While the project is still a work-in-progress, the project team is hopeful that the project will soon reach the implementation phase.
