Local Outreach

About Our Outreach

As part of our mission in empowering the communities that we partner with, EWB Pitt is also committed to serving the Pittsburgh area. We are constantly seeking new ways to serve our local community. Our members regularly take part in volunteer opportunities throughout the city.

These volunteer opportunities are a great way for our team members to become more acquainted with our local community. Additionally, these opportunities are always great fun! If you or your organization are looking for volunteers in the Pittsburgh community, please reach out to us through our contact information below!

Adopt-A-Block

Every month, we participate in Adopt-A-Block, a litter control program through the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation, where we help clean up the streets of South Oakland. Engineers Without Borders is dedicated to making our community and campus a better place to live. We also collaborate with other organizations to help tidy up the streets. Most recently, we collaborated with the Conservation Club and Engineers for a Sustainable World.

First Food and Friends

Every Saturday, the United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh holds the First Food and Friends programs serving meals for those in need. Engineers Without Borders helps to volunteer preparing and serving food for this program. EWB is dedicated to helping improve the local community here in Pittsburgh and to help those struggling or in need. We have also collaborated with other clubs in this mission. Most recently, EWB has collaborated with Theta Tau in volunteering of the distribution and preparation of these meals.
